Matt Brown – Writer, Co-Producer, Investigator, Co-Founder
Born and raised in London, most of Matt’s childhood was spent doing something creative. With writing, he would constantly scribble down ideas, anything from poems to children’s stories. He is an avid musician, both writing and playing. However, it was writing novels and writing for TV and film that gave him most satisfaction. Matt started his career in a post-production facility in London’s West End, where he worked up from a runner to an editor’s assistant. Working mainly on documentaries, Matt was able to develop and learn the art of vision and sound and how they marry together to create powerful storytelling.
Matt has always had a passion for the paranormal resulting in him researching strange phenomena over many years. He has co-created Ghost Office in order to go out and investigate current reported hauntings around the UK.
Matt’s first novel The Short of It was published and released, nationally and internationally, in June 2012. A dark romantic comedy culminates in the exploration of many important and significant areas of everyday life. A focus on mental health condition, bi-polar, saw Mental Health Charity SANE support Matt’s novel and promote it via their website. In October 2013, Matt’s second novel, a crime thriller called The Evidence Room was released.
Matt is Co-Founder of Lock’n’load films and has already written and co-produced two short films, a period piece based on one of Matt’s poems Witness At Cannon Street (narrated by actor Nick Brimble), and a psychological thriller Josh. Matt is currently writing scripts for two feature films and a drama series.
